Wine Description

Aroma Balanced and complex, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits with spicy notes such as cloves and cinnamon, as well as wildflowers and toast.
Color Intense, pure, bright red.
Palate

Structured, warm and powerful on the palate with silky tannins. Notes of ripe red fruit and sweet spices, toast and wood. The acidity is very well integrated and gives the Tinto freshness and structure. Long lasting finish.
Overall result It is round, juicy and powerful, full-bodied and with sharp aromas. The tannins are round and ripe and the finish is long and dry.
Match with

Main courses of red meat (both roasted and grilled), big game and roasts (suckling pig, lamb...). Also goes well with smoked cheese appetizers, Iberian cured meats and ham.

I would concentrate entirely on the wine and enjoy it without dishes.

Vinification

Fermentation In wooden foudres and steel tanks, then in large wooden barrels.
Maturation 18 months in new and another 30 months in used oak barrels.

Criticism

Luis Gutierréz the critic Robert Parkers wrote in 2021:

"2015 was a very powerful year, a vintage full of focus and maturity. But the 2015 Reserva Especial was made with more Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and aged in less new oak, and the wine has retained its balance. It combines ripe berries and Spices with sharp herbal aromas and flavor notes that provide freshness. It is round, juicy and powerful, full-bodied and with pungent aromas. The tannins are round and ripe and the finish is long and dry. 4,000 bottles were produced."
