Wine Description

Aroma Citrus notes, ripe plums, balsamic and salty hints.
Color Straw yellow
Palate Freshness, spicy bitterness, salty and floral notes.
Overall result A light wine, yet with a very good ageing potential, at least until 2028.
Match with ...steamed or boiled fish, rice or pasta dishes with light sauces, salad and soft or young cheeses.

Production Palomino Fino is fermented in barrels with indigenous yeasts found in the vineyard and in the barrels themselves.
Maturation 12 months in oak barrels under a veil of yeast.

"The 2020 Navazos-Niepoort is still quite young and a little fruit-driven. 2020 was a low-yielding year with a wet summer (lots of botrytis in Sanlúcar, but not in Jerez). This is a lighter vintage, with less grip (and without the two extra years in bottle that the 2018 I tasted alongside has). These wines may seem light, but they age much better than we all expected, and the quality of the vintage is easier to discern after years in bottle. The first vintage, the 2008, is still going strong today. 5,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in 2021."

"Equipo Navazos continues to release incredible wines from high quality sherries. I hadn't tasted their wines for a while, so there were a lot of wines to taste. During the years of the pandemic, they celebrated their 15th anniversary and 100th new wine (either with a new name or a new vintage). I have now tasted the 118th wine.... They have been very influential, inventing and reviving styles and a type of project that others are now following. They have also moved into more spirits, vermouth and even vinegar, which I haven't tried!".
