Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's critic for Spain wrote 2018:
"Made from Chardonnay grapes planted on limestone soils in the 1980s, the 2012 Argent Gran Reserva Brut is definitely more modern. The wine matured on its lees in bottle for 58 months and has 3.3 grams of residual sugar. It is different on the nose, as it has some Chardonnay aromas. But the palate shows a very different profile to the Imperial from the same vintage, with lots of acidity and focus, modern and elegant. 14,800 bottles produced."
