Criticism

Luis Gutierréz the critic Robert Parkers wrote in 2020:

"The white 2019 Gaba do Xil Branco was made with Godello and a few other white grapes from a range of vineyards at 400 to 500 metres above sea level on red clay and shale soils. It was fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks where it matured on its lees for four months. These white wines are very reductive when young and don't show until a year after bottling, so you should go by the palate rather than the nose at this early stage. It's very grainy on the palate, with a chalky dryness and a delicious, almost salty finish. This year it is more granite-like than Godello. 2019 will be a very good vintage for white wines. 143,820 bottles were produced. It was bottled in January 2020..."
